Spiced Apple Cake

Ingredients:

  • 3 apples
  • Dates 30 g
  • Cinnamon powder 1 tablespoon
  • Honey 2 tablespoons
  • Orange zest 30 g
  • Plain flour 125 g
  • Caster sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Baking powder 1 tablespoon
  • Butter 150 g
  • 1 egg
  • Milk 100 ml
  • Vanilla extract 1 drop
  • Flaked almonds 30 g
  • Salt
  • Ice-cream for decoration

Cooking Instructions

  1. First off, start preparing the apples. Peel and chop them. Place the apples into the hot pan with 50g of butter.
  2. Add 1 table spoon of cinnamon powder and 2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Then, add 30 g of dates and orange zest. Cook for 2 more minutes and spoon into baking dishes.
  4. For the sponge topping, sift 125 g of plain flour with a pinch of salt. Add 1 tablespoon of caster sugar and baking powder, add 100 g of butter. Blitz.
  5. Add orange zest, 1 egg, 100 ml of milk and vanilla extract.
  6. Spoon the dough on to the spiced apples, sprinkle with flaked almonds.
  7. Bake for about 18 minutes.
  8. When cooked, dust with icing sugar. Finish with vanilla ice-cream. Cook this recipe with a photo!
