Vanilla Shortbread With Crème Fraîche & Clementines


  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 2 whole eggs
  • Unsalted butter 125 g
  • Caster sugar 90 g
  • Plain flour 250 g
  • Crème fraiche 200 g
  • Clementines 200 g
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. First, slice 2 vanilla pods and scrape out the seeds. Put the seeds into the bowl.
  2. Then, add 2 whole eggs. Give that a whisk.
  3. Add 125 grams of unsalted butter to the mixer. As the butter soft, add 90 grams of caster sugar. Then, gradually pour in eggs with vanilla seeds. Add the pinch of salt, and beat until the mixer turns paler.
  4. Add 250 grams of plain flour, and mix until it forms dough.
  5. Put the dough onto the board and shape it into a circle. Then, roll it out to the thickness of 1 centimeter.
  6. Cut out a large circle and put onto a baking tray.
  7. Put into the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes until it turns pale golden color. Sprinkle some sugar.
  8. Spoon out the lozenges of crème fraiche. Grate on zest of a clementine.
  9. Place the clementines on the crème fraiche. Cook this recipe with a photo! Recipe for Thanksgiving Day!
